Michael Fuge - Chief Executive Officer
Michael joined Pacific Hydro in July 2014 as Chief Executive Officer. With 20 years of international experience in the energy sector, his career has focused on driving transformations in performance in the areas of growth, productivity, efficiency, safety and people engagement. Michael has deep energy experience across exploration, production and distribution, having led large teams and complex, large-scale developments in New Zealand, Oman and Brunei. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Commerce, Chemical and Process Engineering, Hons) and a Master of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Canterbury.
Rob Spurr - Chief Financial Officer
Rob joined Pacific Hydro in 2005 as Executive Manager Finance for Latin America. Rob returned to Australia in 2009 as Executive Manager Finance and Legal for Pacific Hydro’s Australian business before being appointed General Manager Finance/CFO in May 2012. Rob has more than 24 years of experience in senior finance and commercial positions including a number of roles within the Orica Group based in Melbourne, Sydney, Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia. He has a Bachelor of Business from Deakin University and is a CPA.
José Antonio Valdes – Executive Chairman, Pacific Hydro Chile
José Antonio is Executive Chairman of Pacific Hydro Chile. He joined the company in 2004 and led the establishment of Pacific Hydro in Chile. José Antonio has over 25 years’ experience in the Chilean energy sector leading important commercial processes at companies such as Transelec and Colbún. He is currently the Chairman of the Chilean Generators Association. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil and Industrial) from the Universidad de Chile, postgraduate degrees in corporate finance and project evaluation and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Nigel Baker – General Manager, Pacific Hydro Chile
Nigel joined Pacific Hydro in April 2003 in the Operations area. In July 2011 he was transferred to Chile as Chief Operations and Commercial Officer prior to becoming General Manager, Pacific Hydro Chile in May 2013. Nigel has previously held a number of roles at Pacific Hydro including Asset Manager Australia and Executive Manager, Group Operations. He has more than 17 years’ experience in the engineering consulting, manufacturing and energy sectors, having spent the last 11 years working in the renewable energy industry across Europe, Australia and Latin America. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Hons), post-graduate studies in Project Management and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Adriana Waltrick – General Manager, Pacific Hydro Brazil
Adriana joined Pacific Hydro as General Manger, Brazil in 2012 after spending 13 years at CPFL Energia Group, the largest private Brazilian power generation, distribution and trading utility, where she held a number of roles including Director of Corporate Strategy and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Vice President of M&A. Prior to CPFL, she held positions such as International Business Manager at Petropar Group and Corporate Strategy Manager at Rede Brasil Sul de Comunicação. Adriana has a degree in Business Administration from Unisinos, a Master in Science as well as an Executive MBA degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and a MBA from the Sloan – Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the USA.
Rachel Watson - General Manager, Australia
Rachel joined Pacific Hydro in 2006 as a Corporate Lawyer and has held a number of positions including, Executive Manager Legal, Executive Manager Finance and Legal and General Manager Group Services with responsibility, at a group level, for human resources, external affairs, health and safety, legal and operations and development excellence and in the Australian business for energy markets. In July 2017, Rachel was appointed to the role of General Manager Australia, and is responsible for leading Pacific Hydro’s Australian portfolio of new business opportunities, projects under development and in construction, and operating assets. Rachel is also a Director of the Clean Energy Council. Prior to joining Pacific Hydro, Rachel worked for Orica Ltd, and spent three years in Japan working for a major turbine supplier. Rachel began her career as a solicitor in private practice in Melbourne. She has over 20 years’ experience in major contracting transactions and other general commercial law issues. Rachel has a BA/LLB (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and an MBA from Melbourne Business School.
Kathy Bremner - General Manager, Group Services
Kathy joined Pacific Hydro in 2006 as Manager, People and Performance before being appointed Executive Manager, Group Human Resources in 2008. In 2011, Kathy was promoted to General Manager, Group Human Resources, with the responsibility to lead and execute the company’s global human resources strategy. In 2013, Kathy moved into the role of General Manager, Group HR & Corporate Communications adding internal and external communications and marketing to her responsibilities . In March 2015, Kathy was appointed General Manager, Business Excellence, and is responsible for the development and implementation of the annual transformation plan which aims to establish operational excellence, change management and continuous improvement as part of Pacific Hydro’s culture. Kathy was appointed General Manager, Group Services in November 2016 and is responsible at a group level for External Affairs, Health & Safety, Legal, HR and Operations and Development Excellence. Kathy has over 15 years’ international experience in Human Resources management, including 4 years’ general management experience. Kathy holds a Masters of Business Administration from Deakin University, a Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Management from the National University of Ireland and a Diploma in Employee Relations.
